Historic District
Because it was the first settled road in North Olmsted, Butternut Ridge Road has many historical buildings on it, carefully preserved as homes by its residents. It is also a tangible illustration of the history of the community, as the homes range in age from the farmhouses of the early 1800's through the Civil War, Victorian, early 1920's and later times to the new house developments of the new millennium.
Although the homes are of different ages, they make a compatible and attractive whole. In recognition of this asset to the community, the need to preserve it for the future, North Olmsted City Council has designated Butternut Ridge Road as an historical district.
Signs have been erected marking the boundaries of the district. As you go down the street, take time to notice the attractive homes, old and new, and the graceful old trees.
It is a credit to North Olmsted that it appreciates and takes care of its past, as it plans its future.
