The President of Council is elected by the voters. Their duty is to preside at all regular and special council meetings. The President has no vote therein except in the event of a tie. In the absence of the Mayor, the President of Council shall act as Mayor as provided in Article III of the City of North Olmsted's Charter.
Duane Limpert is familiar with procedures in North Olmsted's government and served on numerous committees and boards during his 11 ½ years on council as the Ward 1 Councilman. In the last 4 ½ years he has served as first the City's Director of Public Safety and then as the City's Director of Public Service.
Duane is a life-long resident of North Olmsted. He is proud of his family history in North Olmsted dating back to the 1860's. His grandfather, Nelson Elliott, served as the Village Treasure and his father ,Dewey Limpert, served consecutively for 16 years as Council at Large and 6 years as the President of Council.
Duane is a graduate of North Olmsted High School and Ashland College. He also graduated from the Cleveland State's Leadership Academy. He and his wife Kathi have three married sons and two grand children.
