Northeast Ohio is known for its mild summer weather and picturesque autumn scenery, but not everyone dreads the promise of a snowy winter in Northeast Ohio!
The proprietors at Village Ski & Snowboard, located at 25401 Lorain Road, have been providing North Olmsted residents with “stuff that makes winter fun” since 1974. Originally, the Bavarian Village and Village Boards storefronts were originally separate stores specializing in ski, snowboarding and skateboarding equipment. These storefronts combined in 2007 into one winter superstore offering the best of both divisions in one cohesive shopping experience. This combination allows their customers to flow freely between ski and snowboard gear without having to move between different stores.
An interesting fact about Village is that they only sell winter gear. In fact, their store is closed from late Spring until Fall so that the owners can enjoy some spring skiing while testing new gear for the upcoming season! They are a full-service shop during their open season, offering ski and snowboard rentals, ski sharpening and waxing, complete tune-ups, binding mounting, and more.
Since winter only lasts so long, Village makes the most of their open season by offering many opportunities for planned trips to local and regional slopes. The 2017 season will feature trips to Holimont, Holiday Valley, Seven Hills, and an extended trip to Telluride Ski Resort in Colorado in March. Anyone interested in attending these trips must RSVP at Village’s website to reserve a spot.
Be sure to support your local winter fun shop and get set up for the season!
