Pick up some fresh produce, herbs and honey at this mobile farmer market popping up this summer at the North Olmsted Senior Center.
If you are looking for a new way to get your fresh produce fix, stop by the Mobile Farmer Market this summer every Tuesday through August 28th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the North Olmsted Senior Center. The entire community is invited to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, herbs, salsas and jams from Richardson Farms, a fifth-generation farm out of Medina.”This market is open to the public and has some of the freshest produce you will find anywhere,” North Olmsted Senior Center Administrator Jackie Chavez-Anderson said. “It is very important to me that everyone has access to fresh fruits and vegetables- this market is a great way to accomplish that mission.”
The market is supported with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Ohio Department on Aging and the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging under the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program. Seniors aged 60 and older who live in the 44070 or 44138 zip codes and who meet income guidelines may receive $50 in coupons to be used at local participating farmers markets. Coupons can be redeemed for locally grown fresh produce, herbs and honey at eligible farmers’ markets and mobile markets around Cuyahoga County. Supplemental information and program applications are available online, by calling 1-800-472-7277 or by visiting the North Olmsted Senior Center at 28114 Lorain Rd.
