Road Construction Updates

Brookpark Road Resurfacing

The City of North Olmsted is partnering with the Ohio Department of Transportation on the resurfacing of Brookpark Road (SR 17) from Lorain Road to the eastern city limits. In addition to pavement rehabilitation, the project includes landscaping upgrades in several locations along with decorative lighting. The Shelly Company has been contracted for this work. Mobilization will begin in early April, with construction activities commencing on April 26 starting near Lorain Road and generally working east in phases over the course of the project. Expect lane closures and delays; however, two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. Construction is expected to conclude by the end of October. Update: On Friday, September 24, and Monday, September 26the intermediate course paving on the outside lanes will begin. Traffic will be prohibited from entering the paving area and police will be on site to assist crews. Extended delays are expected and drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route. Future night and weekend work is expected while crews finish the resurfacing portion of the project and updates will be posted.

Dover Center Road Gas Line Replacement

The work for the Dominion pipeline replacement should be completed by September 15. Project restoration is expected to be completed in the beginning of October.

Mastick Road Gas Line Replacement

Dominion Energy Ohio will be replacing the gas pipeline along Mastick Road. Construction will begin July 12, 2021 and is expected to be completed at the end of September. During this time, Mastick Road will be closed to through traffic. Please contact the Pipeline Replacement Center at  1 (800) 544-5768 if you have questions or concerns.

Cedar Point Bridge Rehabilitation

Cuyahoga County has begun rehabilitating the Cedar Point bridge over the Rocky River in North Olmsted. The bridge will be closed beginning July 22 until further notice; detours will be posted. Access to the Frostville Museum will be maintained from Lewis Road and from Cedar Point Road via Columbia Road.
