City Hall Public Health Improvements

On September 8, 2020, construction began to make public health improvements to the public and semi-public spaces at City Hall including the lobby, the mayor’s court and building department public service areas, first floor restrooms and kitchen. Construction is expected to conclude by mid-December. The project is in direct response to the COVID-19 health emergency and is being funded through the CARES Act.

The lobby will be redesigned for directional entry and exit and the configuration will promote social distancing and use finishes that can be easily cleaned. Public service points will be designed to protect both the public and employee. Additional meeting and flex space will be designed in semi-public areas to discourage unnecessary travel through City Hall. Restrooms will be redesigned with touchless toilets, faucets and hand dryers and will meet current ADA standards. Modifications to the HVAC system will be made to install technology to filter particulate matter, bacteria and viruses.
