The foundation, basis and authority of the North Olmsted Civil Service Commission are derived from the United States Constitution, Constitution of the State of Ohio, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted and the Ohio Revised Code.
The City of North Olmsted’s Civil Service Commission consists of three Commissioners who are appointed by the Mayor and serve six-year staggered terms. Civil Service Commission meetings are held on the second floor of the Administration Building in the City Council Caucus Room, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio and will begin at 7:00 pm. The meetings are open to the public and are subject to change. Please refer to the Community Calendar for the meeting dates and times.
The Rules and Regulations handbook shall be comprehensively reviewed by the Commission every two years. The Commission may amend the rules and regulations at any time, providing such amendments are made by a majority vote of Commission members at a public meeting.
The Civil Service Commission is responsible for arranging Entry-Level and Promotional examinations, hearings, appeals, amending rules and regulations as well as other tasks governed by the Civil Service Commission of the City of North Olmsted and the State of Ohio.
