As of May 29, 2018, the Building Department is using revised forms for building permit applications. Please note that the building permit application requires the owner’s signature for both residential and commercial projects, and the signature of the Design Professional in Responsible Charge (architect or engineer) on commercial projects, so please download and complete these forms before coming in to the Building Department.
One of the following applications (residential or commercial), accompanied by the appropriate drawings, documentation and plan review fee, will need to be provided for any project:
Once plan approval has been granted, a general building permit will be issued upon payment of the required building permit fees. Also after plan approval has been granted, specialty subtrades will use the following forms to apply for their respective permits:
The specialty subtrade permit will be issued upon payment of the required specialty subtrade fee.
For permits requiring plan reviews, please submit three copies of plans with your permit application. If there is site work as part of your project, then four copies of plans are required. Plan review fees are due at the time of application. Click on Permit Fees and refer to Section 1321.05 for a schedule of Building plan review fees.
*Engineering plan review deposits are required for new homes ($1,500), commercial developments up to 20,000 sq. ft. ($2,000) and developments over 20,000 sq. ft. ($6,000), in addition to building plan review fees.
