Do Not Knock Registry

The City of North Olmsted receives numerous complaints about Solicitors and Peddlers. Solicitors and Peddlers are prohibited from peddling or soliciting at residential homes that have expressly requested to be listed on the City’s Do Not Knock registry. Non-profit, charitable, religious and tax-exempt groups are not prohibited by this registry.

Residents can register online, by calling (440) 716-4134, or by stopping by City Hall during regular business hours.

Door Stickers Available

“NO PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS, OR CANVASSERS ALLOWED”

The Safety Department has available to all residents a sticker that can be placed at your home’s entrance, prohibiting Peddlers, Solicitors and Canvassers from knocking on your door.  Residents can obtain this sticker by stopping by City Hall or by contacting the Safety Department at (440) 716-4134. Non-profit organizations and charitable groups are usually exempted by law, and therefore, they are not required to obtain a permit from the City of North Olmsted. We cannot regulate this type of solicitor. If you have a concern or question regarding a solicitor in your area, we suggest that you do not open your door and you contact the Police Department at (440) 777-3535 or the Department of Public Safety at (440) 716-4134.
