Our Mission

The mission of the North Olmsted Oxcart Pantry is to provide food assistance to families and individuals residing in North Olmsted who are currently experiencing need. The Oxcart Pantry provides food and household items to ease the burden of economic difficulties or catastrophic events affecting individuals and families in our community. It is designed to be a supplemental source of food and household goods to provide added support for these residents to better utilize their personal resources more effectively.

We are a proud member agency of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

 

Accessing Assistance

To better serve you, all services are by appointment only. Please call for an appointment to complete an application for assistance. We are open Tuesdays 8 AM to 4 PM, Wednesdays 8:30 AM to 6 PM and Thursdays 8 AM to 4 PM.

Individuals and families qualified for assistance will be eligible to receive assistance every 30 days. Appointments for Wednesday pick-up times are typically scheduled in 10 minute intervals. Some exceptions to regular schedules are made during the holiday season and will be posted in advance.

Nutrition is important to us! We strive to have fresh produce on hand whenever possible along with healthier choices like low fat milk, wheat pasta and brown rice. We know that health related problems can often by improved with good nutrition. If you are unfamiliar with some products, just ask us for recipes, our staff will be glad to assist.

Eligibility Requirements

Recipient must be an established resident (homeowner or renter with a lease agreement) of the City of North Olmsted.

  • Recipient must meet certain income guidelines. The Oxcart Pantry uses income tables reflecting 200% of poverty according to Federal guidelines.
  • There are no restrictions based upon age, religion, nationality, gender or sexual orientation.
  • Assistance is limited to one application per household.

The following documents are necessary to complete an application for assistance:

  • Proof of Residency: Current local utility billing statement showing name and address
  • Proof of Income: Three (3) recent paystubs from employer for all adults living in the household
  • Proof of Public Assistance: Social Security/Disability reward letters, WIC ID, Ohio Directions/SNAP ID or Ohio Works First ID
  • Photo ID: Driver’s License or State ID

 

Donations Welcomed 

If you or your organization would like to help our pantry, please contact us to discuss needs and coordinate dates and deliveries. We can accept non-perishable boxed, jars or canned goods along with financial donations.

Our Wish List

  • Boxed or canned full meals such as pasta, stews, kits
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Soup (canned, dry or broth)
  • Canned fruit (no or low sugar preferred)
  • Cereal and/or oatmeal
  • Canned meats or tuna, salmon etc.
  • Spaghetti sauce and pasta
  • Tissues, toilet paper and paper towels
  • Toiletries such as toothbrushes, tooth paste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, etc.
  • Laundry detergent
