Information and Referral

The Senior Center Social Worker, Tiffany Hunt, LSW offers information and referral for a variety of subjects.  Please do not hesitate to call the Senior Center regarding information on Medicare, Medicaid, Senior Living, Adult Day Care, Utility Assistance, Transportation, or any other senior service you may be in need of.  The Senior Center refers to private companies and individuals in regards to services to seniors, including, but not limited to, home health aides and agencies, lawn care, snow removal, in home beauticians and barbers.

 

Are You Ok? Program

The North Olmsted Police Department offers this free telephone reassurance program consisting of daily check in phone calls for older residents.  Choose a time you would like to be checked in on every day and the department will contact you to ask “Are You Ok?”  If you do not answer after two attempts an officer will be dispatched to your home to check on you.  Please call the non-emergency number of the North Olmsted Police Department at 440-777-3535 for more information and an application.

 

2018 Informational Programs: These programs are all offered at 12:15 after our hot lunch program.  RSVP is not required for the informational programs; however, registration and advance sign up is required for the lunch program.

2018 Health Screenings:

            The Senior Center offers a variety of health screenings including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, hearing, glaucoma, skin cancer, and osteoporosis.

Below is a list of current scheduled screenings.  These screenings are all offered free of charge.

  • Blood Pressure Screenings – No appointments necessary.  Offered by St. John Medical Center, Right at Home, Rae Ann Skilled Nursing, and O’Neill Healthcare.
    Every Monday from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
    Beginning in July time will be from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Cholesterol & Glucose – No appointments necessary.  Non-fasting test.  Offered by St. John Medical Center.
    Monday, November 5th from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
